NBS seeks a year-round full-time Land/Facilities Technician. This person would play an integral role in trail maintenance projects, maintaining our facilities for visitors and much more.

NBS seeks a per diem educator to assist with spring programs, including but not limited to field trips, outreach and after school programs.  In addition to teaching, the educator will prepare and clean up materials after programs, handle education animals, and work as part of a team.

Casey Farm offers Volunteer Work-share positions, Saunderstown
Application Deadline: June 1
Work-share volunteers work alongside farm hands in the field performing tasks such as planting, weeding, harvesting and preparing produce for CSA pickup and weekly farmer’s market. Work-share volunteers are sought for Tuesday or Friday mornings 7 a.m. – 11 a.m. to help with harvest, as well as Saturday work crew 8 a.m. – noon during the Coastal Grower’s Farmer’s Market.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Punctual and reliable
  • Able to take direction and work well in a team setting
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
  • Able to and interested in working efficiently and quickly
  • Experience with farming or horticulture work is not required.

Holly Hill Farm seeks 2 Farm Interns, Cohasset, MA
Our 2015 season Internships are best suited to people with some farming experience who wants to broaden his or her skills and knowledge. One year of organic farming or gardening experience is ideal, but not required. Interns are expected to work 10-hour days, Tuesday through Saturday, plus a half day Sunday. Occasionally longer hours may be required. Interns are expected to work regardless of weather conditions. Candidates should be physically fit enough to weed and harvest, and should be able to lift 50 lbs. An ability to work with people of all ages is a must. Past communal living experience is a plus. Compensation includes housing in our historic farmhouse and weekly monetary pay.

We are a certified organic farm consisting of 140 acres of land (10 acres of open fields of which three acres are in production), historic buildings, greenhouses and diversified natural areas for educational purposes. We grow organic vegetables, herbs and flowers that are sold at our farm stand, at the Cohasset Farmers Market, and to select restaurants. Seedlings are sold during our annual May plant sale. An educational non-profit on the farm hosts dozens of kids on a daily basis through summer camps and school visits.
