SUMMARY:On-Farm Workshop\, Freedom Food Farm\, Raynham\, MA
DESCRIPTION:Holistic Farming for Soil Health and Climate Resiliency\n\n\n\nMaintaining a healthy farm ecosystem both improves soils and mitigates the impacts of severe weather events. Join Chuck Currie and Marie Kaziunas of Freedom Food Farm – together they have almost 30 years of organic and regenerative farming experience! Tour their hand-scale no-till market garden and greenhouses\, tractor-scale reduced tillage grain/vegetable/forage rotations\, rotational grazing system\, and compost production. Talk about how these systems interact to provide the tools they need to build organic matter\, increase biological activity\, and protect the soil\, while reducing dependence on off-farm inputs. They’ll also share observations on how these systems can increase crop health\, yields\, and consistency.\n\n\nThe workshop will be followed by a potluck social hour\, please bring a snack or drink if you are able.\nPlease Register Here
